Another Day on Paradise

The photography project “Another Day on Paradise” is, above all, a way of slowing down life. It stems from a deep personal need to pause, observe, and give thanks. Taking its title from Phil Collins’ ironic and critical song, the project turns its original meaning on its head to transform it into a life manifesto: paradise is not an exotic place to escape to, but rather the ability to find beauty in the everyday.

Its true origin is very personal. While my parents were away, I began documenting my daily life as simply as possible to send to them and keep them close. From this daily expression of love, the idea for the project emerged: a visual letter that leads me to focus my gaze on my surroundings to capture the light and poetry of the ordinary in my daily routine.

Gabriel Machado on set

I am Gabriel Machado, a Madrid-based freelance photographer and camera operator specializing in editorial portraiture, documentary storytelling, and sports.

I view the camera as an extension of how I experience life: a collection of fleeting moments preserved with authenticity. I am passionate about capturing people and documenting the emotional bond that connects them to what they love, defined by a nostalgic aesthetic and color grading that emulates classic analog film.

With over four years of experience in the visual industry, I am currently refining my technical expertise by studying the Higher Degree in Lighting, Image Capture, and Treatment at Escuela CES. My background is complemented by practical experience working directly with productions, models, and brands, ensuring absolute technical and creative versatility.
